Why climb the mountain?
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming. You might be nervous, unsure, or even afraid of being judged. Media portrayals don’t always help—they can paint therapy as intimidating or impersonal. But here’s the truth: reaching out takes courage and strength. And you don’t have to do it alone.
Each session is one step up your mountain—a journey toward a happier, healthier you. We’ll go at your pace. I’ll meet you where you are. Together, we’ll create a path forward that feels possible and empowering.
Therapy offers a space to understand how your past shapes your present and how to build a future that aligns with who you want to be. It’s about gaining tools, insight, and resilience for the moments when life feels steep or unclear.

What to Expect

Change is hard—especially when the unknown feels scarier than the discomfort we already know. Many people stay stuck not because they want to, but because it feels safer than risking something new.
When clients begin therapy, it’s common to feel anxious or unsure. But more often than not, people leave their first session saying, “That was better than I expected.” There’s relief in simply being heard.
Therapy can bring up a range of emotions. Some sessions may feel heavier than others. Sometimes, things might feel worse before they get better—as you begin to face what you’ve been avoiding. That’s normal. That’s part of the work.
The most important thing? Trust the process. With consistency, effort, and support, you can reduce your symptoms, gain clarity, and reconnect with who you are at your core.
How therapy works for Teens
For the first session at least one parent or guardian must attend. Both parents are preferred. If there is any custody paperwork a copy must be on file before therapy can continue with consent of both parents. During the first session we meet with the teen and parents, either for the first part of the session or for the whole session. Further sessions with parents may be required or can be requested. After the initial session, we can begin working with your teen on an individual basis. We check in with you on an “as needed” basis, or if you feel the need to contact us before that time comes, just reach out.
We will be happy to set up a consultation and provide you with an update without violating your teen’s confidentiality. We aim to create a sense of autonomy for your teen and try to keep the information they share as private as possible. Of course, we will reach out if there are any safety concerns.
